It’s a new year with new dreams, aspirations and change in the air. For Ayamba Meet & Greet, this means a new formula to spice things up a bit. We return with the same show, driving the same cause but doing things slightly different.
A New and Improved Ayamba Meet & Greet
The first big change you’ll notice is that the show will now have one host for the meet & greet segment. None other than Halima Aliyu, Ayamba LitCast’s Director and Founder. Expect witty banter, mischief and personal revelations in the second season.
The show will also host only one guest instead of the usual two, except during specials, of which we have quite a few planned. Each episode will adopt distinct themes that we believe will provide even more entertainment than before.
There are a few other things we have up our sleeves but we will wait for you all to discover them for yourselves.
Guest of the Month
Our first guest of the year is a lady longtime members of the Ayamba LitCast community should know quite well. The one and only Poetry Doctor, Hauwa Saleh Abubakar.
Hauwa Saleh Abubakar
Hauwa Saleh Abubakar is a writer, poet and aspiring artist. She is the author of ‘How To Practice Forgetting,’ a poetry collection on Okada Books. Hauwa was shortlisted twice for the Nigerian Students Poetry Prize and her works have appeared in Ake Review and the Afro Anthology of Creative Nonfiction ‘The Weight of Years.’ She is a contributor for Penprofile, Jaruma Magazine and ANWEP blogs.
She considers herself an accidental lawyer and aims to make people ‘feel something’ with her works.

What is Ayamba Meet & Greet
Ayamba Meet & Greet began in February 2021 to bring together artists so we can interact with their works. This, we hope, will spark and inspire creative conversations that are necessary for the growth of arts and literature. We believe in the importance of building a literate society and the event helps us do so alongside our community.
Meeting on the first Saturday of every month, we invite one or two guests from a pool of upcoming and established creatives from around the region with a lot of insight to share.
We also have open mic performances from attendees and play fun games like charades while our friends at VersusNG host Just Dance sessions on the Nintendo Switch.
