We are pleased to announce the July 2021 edition of Ayamba Meet & Greet. This time, our guests are our young and talented community members, Habiba Malumfashi and Hauwa Shaffii Nuhu.

Habiba Malumfashi
A book reviewer and art lover, Habiba Malumfashi’s areas of interest include poetry, Hausa literature, and African speculative fiction. Her literary works have appeared on Brittle Paper, Kalahari Review, and even Ayamba LitCast. She is an Agricultural Economics student at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Hauwa Shaffii Nuhu
Besides being a lawyer passionate about women representation in our society, Hauwa Shaffii Nuhu is also a poet and essayist. She has sat on multiple literary panels and been invited to numerous festivals as a guest, such as Ake Festival and Kaduna Book and Arts Festival.
Hauwa is a Fellow of the Ebedi Writers’ Residency and two-time shortlistee of the Nigerian Students Poetry Prize. Her works and personality have also appeared in Popula, Lolwe, SpringNG, 20.35 Africa, Minority Africa, and more.
She is currently a staff writer at Folio Nigeria, and a freelance reporter at HumAngle.

What is Ayamba Meet & Greet
Ayamba Meet & Greet began in February 2021 to bring together artists so we can interact with their works. This, we hope, will spark and inspire creative conversations that are necessary for the growth of arts and literature. We believe in the importance of building a literate society and the event helps us do so alongside our community.
Meeting on the first Saturday of every month, we invite one or two guests from a pool of upcoming and established creatives from around the region with a lot of insight to share.
We also have performances from attendees and play fun games like charades and Monopoly, while our friends at VersusNG host Just Dance sessions on the Nintendo Switch.
